You can plant the roots of the aquatic plant, Parrot Feather, at the bottom of a pond or in a pond basket. Cover the basket with jute and fill the pond with special soil. Plant Parrot Feather in the basket, fill it with soil and add a growth ball. Cover everything with the remaining jute and sprinkle with a layer of gravel. Place the basket just below the surface or up to 20-50 cm deep in the pond. If your pond is not too shallow, you can place your basket on a pile of stones. Place this plant in complete sunshine. The best time to plant is between May and June.

Parrot Feather's fine leaves make an excellent haven for fish. This aquatic plant is originally from the famous Amazon River.

Parrot Feather is an easy-growing foliage pond plant that requires minimal maintenance. Cut off its dead leaves in autumn and remove it from the pond. Yearly, in the spring you can add a growth ball to the pond basket. If the clump grows too large by May, you can take Parrot Feather out of the pond. Divide the clump into smaller pieces and plant only one piece back inside the pond. To contain its growth, it is advisable to plant it in pots.
