Mexican Trio in Ornamental Pots - Plant
The Mexican Trio comes in beautiful, matching pots. You can also repot your cacti. It's best to use a compost for cacti or mix some sharp sand or fine gravel with ordinary potting compost. Choose a pot with holes in the base and cover the bottom with a layer of potsherds or hydrograins. Plant the cacti at the appropriate depth in the pot. Fill with compost, press firmly, and give them a little water directly after planting them. Place the pot in a sunny, elevated area. When handling them wrap the cactus in newspaper or use thick gardening gloves to avoid the prickliness of its spines.
Many people think that the coloured top of the cacti is a flower, which is not true, it is actually the Gymnocalicium. The red or yellow cactus does not have chlorophyll and can only grow on a green rootstock. Cactus flowers may appear on the bulb.
The Mexican Trio grows well in a warm and bright spot in the living room. Water moderately as the compost may often get dry. During the winter, give the Mexican Trio small amounts of cold water. During the year, spray with water and then slowly pour some into the compost along with a small amount of plant food.
