Blue Colorado Spruce - Tree

Make sure the root ball of this beautiful Blue Colorado Spruce is well-moistened by placing it in a bucket of lukewarm water overnight. Prepare a suitable hole in reasonably good, nutritious garden soil that is not too dry. Improve poor garden soil by mixing in some compost. Plant the root ball at the appropriate depth, the top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. Place your Blue Colorado Spruce in a sunny or partially sunny area.

The Blue Colorado Spruce is a lovely dwarf form of the Evergreen Conifer. These conifers remain small, so there is always a spot to be found for them. You can plant the Blue Colorado Spruce in the rock garden. In a large pot or planter, the Blue Colorado Spruce combines well with Litho Dora Diffusa 'Heavenly Blue' and Hypericum Calycinum.

The Blue Colorado Spruce requires very little attention and is easy to maintain. During the first month after planting avoid the roots from drying out. Once the Picea pungens ‘Glauca Globosa’ becomes established it will tolerate drought quite well. Pruning is not necessary since this conifer already has a beautiful shape.
